FST has supported the delivery of 2,187 firefighter training and certification events (1915 last FY).
167 Cost Recovery events — Firefighters, Fire Departments, Career Technology Centers, and Industry have paid for training (325 last FY).
567 Grant Reimbursed events — Oklahoma Homeland Security, Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, National Fire Academy (498 last FY).
602 Rural/Volunteer — No-cost, FST Instructor, at Volunteer and Combination Fire
Departments, Regional Training Centers, Career Technology Centers (0 last FY).
851 In-house training events — FST supports with curriculum, equipment, training simulators, training records (1092 last FY).
Fourteen Career Technology Centers and Regional Training Centers are FST approved training and certification sites.
FST has provided reimbursed training, at 17 Career Technology Centers.
30,753 students have received training.
Twenty-eight Firefighter I certification exams have been administered this FY with six scheduled before June 30, 2008. Four Firefighter I courses are in session at this time.
The Certification Section has administered 206 certification exams and live burn evaluations (167 last FY). 2025 IFSAC seals have been issued since July 1, 2007.
Over 300 students were in attendance at the Bob Smith Wildland Roundup at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant this past February.
The four FST weekend regional training schools were deemed a success. A total of over 700 firefighters received training at these events.

Professional Skills Center Activity:
The PSC recently expanded its facility boundaries 250' to the west and 250' to the north.
Since July 1, 2007, the PSC has logged 66,096 transportation miles for delivery and pickup of training simulators and equipment.
The PSC staff has supported 138 days of training classes, with 57 of those days at the PSC.
The PSC staff designed and constructed new training props for rural fire training. The mobile pit fire simulator and propane tank prop have provided realistic training that has not been available in the past. Seventeen mobile live-fire training classes have been delivered to date.
The hazardous materials technician trailer built by the PSC staff has attracted attention from several state training agencies.
The PSC now has a dependable pumper truck that can be taken on the road for training.
Rural/Volunteer Training Program
During the Legislative Session the legislators said that their volunteer firefighters needed no-cost training delivered by a live instructor at the local fire department. When all was said and done, FST received an additional $821,000 with an understanding that this funding would be dedicated to providing no-cost training to volunteer/rural firefighters by an FST instructor and at the local community.

FST employed Debbie Tuttle as Rural Programs Unit Assistant to assist with administrative paperwork and scheduling.

FST employed Rudee Cryer to deliver training simulators and equipment to local fire departments and regional training centers.
Two sedans, one heavy two ton pickup, a one ton dully pickup, and a used utility truck were purchased to replace rolling stock that was worn out (90% of training is delivered away from Stillwater).
FST now has 200 approved field instructors.
This additional funding for FY '08 has allowed FST to acquire the resources (personnel and equipment) which has provided FST the capability to provide no-cost training opportunities for every Oklahoma volunteer firefighter. FST has provided this training to Oklahoma volunteer and combination fire departments.
The Rural/Volunteer Training Program has provided 602 training events during FY '08 for 8109 registered students (May 28, 2008). FST has supported 851 in-house training events (1092 total during FY'07).
