KEYS VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
State Licensed First Responder Agency
We are a volunteer fire department with 38 firefighters, 2 stations. We have 11 trucks We are located in the cnetral part of Cherokee County, covering an approximately 100 square miles.
The Keys Volunteer Fire Department has earned an ISO Class 8 rating. This has lowered the home insurance costs for all of the residents of our coverage area.  In addition to providing fire protection and auto rescue, we provide a First Responder service in cooperation with the two county ambulance services, having 5 EMT’s with 11 First Responders.

We rely on funding generated by our membership dues and our fund-raisers throughout the year, as well as some monies from the County and the State.
