We are a volunteer fire department with 11 firefighters, 2 Dispatchers, 1 EMT, 6 First Responders, 7 Trucks, 1 Station, 2 Heli-Pads
We are located in the southern part of the county on the east side of Lake Tenkiller, and provide Mutual aid to Cookson, Key’s and Blackgum Fire departments .
The communities we protect include Chicken Creek, Buckhorn, Eagles Nest, Snake Creek, and Snake Creek Wilderness including 15 square miles of district, we protect from Terrapin Creek Bridge to the county line.
Our apparatus include 2 pumpers, 2 rescue trucks, 2 brush trucks and 1 tanker. Pumper 1 is a 1991 Ford/Toyne with a 1250 gpm pump and a 1000 gallon tank along with a 10 gallon foam tank. Pumper 2 is a 1972 Oren with a 750 gpm pump and 1000 gallon tank. Brush 1 is a 2003 F-350 with a 150 gpm pump and a 300 gallon tank. Brush 2 is a 1988 Chevy with a 150 gpm pump and a 250 gallon tank. Tanker 1 is a 1977 Chevy with a 300 gpm pump and a 2200 gallon tank. Our rescue vehicles include a 1978 E-ONE mini pumper with a 450 gpm pump, a 400 gallon tank it also carries our hydraulic extrication tools and one of our two AED’s. We also have 1997 GMC Yukon first responder SUV that carries most of our medical equipment and our other AED.
The Chicken Creek Volunteer Fire Department has earned an ISO Class 8 rating. This has lowered the home insurance costs for all of the residents of our coverage area. If you or your insurance company has any questions on this please call the numbers listed below.
Our membership dues are $25.00 per year and are due in January.
